Stacy Szymczak is a Compliance Analyst in Chapman Law Group’s Compliance practice area responsible for evaluating and confirming our health care clients are complying with regulatory standards. Her years of experience in investigating complaints involving allegations of ethics, policy, fraud, waste and/or abuse allow Stacy to identify issues before they become serious problems.
Using her expansive knowledge and understanding of Medicaid Program Integrity standards, HIPAA, HITECH, Michigan Medicaid Provider Manual and electronic medical records, she performs and monitors audits; analyzes claims and payment data; and provides guidance and assistance in the identification, development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures and work flow processes for our health care clients.
Stacy’s strong interest in helping others is evidenced by her work as a Veterans Benefits Counselor providing veterans and their families with professional advocacy and technical assistance in obtaining the maximum Federal, State and local veterans’ benefits available. Additionally, Stacy has been a service provider for children with Autism as an Applied Behavior Analysis Technician.
Stacy attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience. During her education, she completed and published research on the impact of NICU design on environmental noise. She frequently returns to campus for football games. Go Blue!
Stacy completed her Master of Public Administration in Healthcare Administration at Oakland University. She also served as President of Pi Alpha Alpha (National Honors Society) and Vice President of the Student Alliance of Healthcare Leaders. Stacy has a passion for health care administration and improving public mental health services for her community.
