“Responding to Government Investigations 2018,” a paper co-written by Ronald W. Chapman II of Chapman Law Group, provides an overview of the different types of health care regulatory government investigations.
It sets out basic strategies for effectively representing health care clients in those investigations government and strategies for conducting internal investigations. Understanding how to respond to an investigation quickly and effectively is important because the stakes are high. Recoupments, civil fines, and penalties can reach into the millions and those found to commit fraud may face potential criminal convictions.
This paper was originally published by the State Bar of Michigan Health Care Law Section.
