Legal Assistants

They come to us with varying levels of experiences and diverse backgrounds, but our legal assistants have the following in common:

  • Our legal assistants demonstrate excellent typing skills, greater than 80 wpm.
  • They tested proficient in Microsoft 365 and are already or willing to be certified.
  • These individuals operate with professionalism and expenses their thoughts in a clear, organized manner, articulating their message using precise and concise wording.
  • Our legal assistant team produces impeccable documents with little to no errors while maintaining excellent, up-to-date file notes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing simple cover letters for enclosures
  • Preparing mailings
  • Photocopying, scanning, and faxing
  • Organizing records
  • Bates stamping
  • Opening and closing files
  • Organizing files
  • Client communications
  • Scheduling meetings, depositions, and other events
  • Communicating with vendors
  • Arranging travel
  • Complete e-filing state and federal and administrative filings

Paralegals

Our paralegals have 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal, a 4-year paralegal degree, or are board-certified as a paralegal. These individuals demonstrate excellent typing skills, greater than 80 wpm, proficiency in Microsoft 365, and are already or willing to be certified. Each paralegal operates with the utmost professionalism, are articulate, persuasive, and express their thoughts in a clear, organized manner. Our paralegals take a proactive approach and anticipate the needs of our attorneys.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Legal, medical, and other research
  • Review of medical records
  • Preparing chronologies
  • Preparing deposition summaries
  • Summarizing discovery responses
  • Cite checking and sherardizing
  • Drafting simple/routine pleadings and discovery
  • Requesting records and obtaining authorizations
  • Preparing FOIA requests
  • Preparing subpoenas
  • Preparing deposition notices
  • Locating parties and witnesses, including expert witnesses
  • Arranging for service of process
  • Checking the docket
  • Preparing exhibits for motions and demonstrative exhibits
  • Completing important applications and forms (EORs, licensure applications, CMS and DEA forms, etc.)
  • Communication with clients related to requests for documents, status updates, and related matters
  • Assisting attorney in collecting information from client
  • Draft interrogatories, requests to admit, motions
  • Interview clients
  • Write memos

Attorneys

The attorneys at Chapman Law Group are intrinsically motivated by, and passionate for, healthcare law. Our lawyers are experienced in their field, with each one bringing something extraordinary to the table. They display great leadership, have a track record of superior performance, and possess a willingness to learn and grow within the firm.

Our healthcare attorneys have a minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare law to assist with regulatory, compliance, licensing, healthcare employment, and transactional matters. They have a working knowledge of state and federal licensing requirements, CMS conditions of participation, and fraud and abuse laws.
