A health insurance company had suspected that client pharmacy committed healthcare fraud through overbilling for medications that were not medically necessary or had not been received by the patient. Client was subsequently reported to the Florida Department of Health (DOH).
Argument:
Chapman Law Group was retained to handle both the health insurance audit and the DOH referral. We were able to obtain, and provide DOH with, all relevant medical records including information about the insurance audit to prove that there was no fraud.
Result:
The DOH ultimately dismissed the case for lack of probable cause.
