Professional:
Dental Hygienist
Primary Issue:
A Michigan dental hygienist’s license was suspended for failure to enter into a contract with the Health Professional’s Recovery Program (HPRP) following a DUI. We petitioned for dissolution of the summary suspension and were granted a hearing before an administrative law judge.
Result:
After successful cross-examination of the state’s witnesses at the hearing, the judge gave a directed verdict in our favor after our showing that the state failed to prove its case. The judge dissolved the suspension and the hygienist returned to practice that day.
