A registered nurse was terminated by his employer for suspected drug use and drug diversion following high usage Pyxsis report.
Benefit of Using Chapman Law Group:
The nurse retained our attorneys to assist the RN in the State Board of Nursing investigation related to allegations of drug diversion and possible substance abuse. We obtained the complete personnel file, the urine drug screen results, fit-for-duty assessment, and an independent substance abuse evaluation by a HPRP-approved provider. Our licensing attorneys thoroughly prepared the RN for his interview with the state investigator. During the investigator interview, the RN was able to explain the high-usage Pyxis report due to his position as a charge nurse and preceptor in the ICU. The substance abuse evaluation and drug screen results confirmed there was no evidence of drug use.
The case was closed following the meeting with the investigator, and no disciplinary action was taken against the RN.
